As Ramey began work to differentiate the U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish brand, in early 2007 a national scandal erupted as the FDA found serious contamination problems with imported seafood, primarily from China. Ramey was tasked to help reassure the public about the safety and quality of U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish, and launched a six-month educational campaign about the serious health risks posed by the chemicals found in imported fish.
