Along with client Roger Barlow, president of The Catfish Institute, the delegation included Mississippi Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith and Texas Representative Sid Miller.

Guide Dogs for the Blind

photoWe received a surprise visit from Guide Dogs for the Blind, a California-based non-profit that is a beneficiary of a bequest from the agency’s founder, Tommy Ramey. Administered through the Community Foundation of Greater Jackson, the bequest will benefit six organizations in perpetuity, continuing the Ramey legacy of giving back.

EastGroup’s David Hoster

Ramey client David Hoster, CEO of EastGroup Properties, was featured in a recent issue of Portfolio magazine, where he spoke about his company’s real estate portfolio and its strategy in the current economy. As the article pointed out, Hoster “helped steer EastGroup to its 117th consecutive quarterly dividend…and to its consistent out-performance of its industrial peer group.”

A recent study published in the Wall Street Journal ranked The Ramey Agency’s home base as “the seventh-merriest state in the nation.” As the WSJ writer noted, “Bring us a plate of whatever they’re serving.” Our other office locations fared well, too. Tennessee was ranked 4th and Arkansas was 18th.
